English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

 
 
 
The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is committed to assuring that parent/guardians of English Learners have a voice in the education of their children.
Under state law, the ELAC shall be responsible for advising and making recommendations to the principal, staff, and SSC on the following:
 
  • The development of the school plan in regards to English Learners (EL).
  • Review findings and offer recommendations on any EL program Modifications.
  • Receive training materials and training, planned in full consultation with committee members to assist members in carrying out their legal responsibilities.
  • Elect a representative to serve on the District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC). It is recommended that a parent of an EL student be the representative and alternate.
